Golden Temple -

                                                     The Gurudwara shri Sri the Harmandir is this temple, and it is situated in Amritsar, Punjab, India.It also known by the moniker of the Golden Temple because it is built of gold. This temple is one of the most revered places in the Sikh religion.





This temple has also become a source of attraction because it is made of gold. A large number of people come here. The construction of this temple has been made entirely of gold. Amritsar is named after Guru Ram Das. Ram Das had named a lake. Another lake is situated around this temple. This temple is built in the middle of the water.


Temple History -

                                          The credit for laying its foundation is given to Ramdas, the fourth Guru of Sikhs. Along with this, some scholars say that the foundation of this temple was laid by the Sufi Saint Miya Meera in December 1588 from Lohar.

The temple itself has also undergone numerous reconstructions after destruction. Hindus and Sikhs contributed to the construction of this shrine. the Sikh faith.

The construction of this temple was done again by Maharaj Jassa Singh Ahluwalia in the 17th century. The number of times this temple was destroyed, it was rebuilt as many times. Due to this temple being made of gold, a lot of money had to be spent in its construction.




It was rebuilt by King Ranjit Singh after it was destroyed by Afghan raiders in the 11th century. Along with this, it was decorated with gold leaf. In 1984, terrorists captured this temple from Bhindranwale and started using it as a place to stay. They wanted to separate Hindus and Sikhs but they could not succeed in this. In the beginning, these terrorists tried to enter inside by taking the support of faith. Considering the work going on continuously for 10 days in time, killed them inside the temple itself. Exactly right. Hundreds of weapons were also recovered from those terrorists. who were allied with Pakistan.


Temple architecture and art - 

                                                                          This temple is also famous from the point of view of architecture and art. This temple is a unique example. It is said that earlier the society was divided into four castes. People of all castes do not go inside the temple through one gate. Keeping this in mind. Four gates were built around this temple. People of all religions can come here.


 Harmandir Sahib Complex -

                                                                         There are two small premises in this temple, which are also called pilgrimage sites. It is surrounded by water from all sides. These waters are known as Amritsar, Amrit Sarosar and Amrit Jheel. The waves of Guruvani kept running here the whole day. This complex is made of marble stones. In this temple, all those incidents have been described which happened in the history of this temple. Some of these incidents have also been described pictorially. Beautiful artworks have also been done inside the temple and proper arrangement of lights has also been done.


Arrangement of Langar in Gurdwara - 

                                                                                               The arrangement of langar has been made proper in the Gurdwara. Many come here every year. For this reason, arrangements have been made for them. There is a big kitchen in the Gurudwara, in which every kind of food and drink is made. Whatever is served in the langar.




Lakhs of people come here. A survey was done in which it was found that about 49 thousand people come to langar daily and take food. People come here from far and wide. So possibly they are not able to go back in a day, so arrangements have been made for them to stay. Under which it has 18 big halls and 288 rooms have been constructed. Along with lighting arrangements in these rooms and hollows, arrangements have also been made for mattresses in winters.


festival of lights -

                                            Although there is always a crowd of people here, but more people gather during the summer holidays. Prakashotsav starts at 2:30 in the morning and the rally taken out of it is taken to the Gurdwara.

It is also considered a wish fulfilling place. It is said that any devotee who comes here with true feelings, all his wishes are definitely fulfilled.
